The Parents Program serves as a vital liaison between Penn and parents. Our office provides parents with informational resources whether its help when planning a visit, checking out the latest news and publications, or just staying connected to Penn.
The Parents Program is designed to inform, involve and engage parents of undergraduate students in the Penn community. We focus our efforts on:
Communications: The
Parents Programs
sends out a fall
and spring newsletter to all parents and maintains this web site to keeps
parents informed about what is happening on campus. We also are
a very valuable resource
for parents to understand many different aspects of campus life and
all that the surrounding area has to offer.
Activities
and Events: The Parents Program coordinates different
events and activities for parents to participate in regionally
and on campus. Some of these events include Welcome Receptions
for the incoming class, New and International Parent Orientation,
and Family Weekend.
Volunteer Opportunities: Parent volunteers are ambassadors of goodwill promoting a cause they believe worthwhile: the education and wellbeing of students at Penn and the entire Penn community. Being a parent volunteer is one more way to stay connected and involved in your child’s Penn experience. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer.
Parents
Fund: Monies raised by the Parents Fund go directly
to where the need is greatest to help Penn maintain its
reputation for academic excellence. To learn more about
the success of the Parents Fund, please view our progress
report.
The Parents Fund Committee is a committee of the Parents Council, made up of parents who understand the importance of supporting the University through unrestricted giving. Unrestricted support is the most useful to the University because those dollars are the only discretionary funds that can bridge the gap between tuition revenues and the actual cost of educating Penn students. These unrestricted dollars enhance the undergraduate experience both inside and beyond the classroom. Click here for a list of current Parents Council members.
