Did You Know invites our parent volunteers to join us on campus to call on fellow Penn parents to support the Parents Fund. The unrestricted gifts raised help to enhance the intellectual, social and cultural life at Penn.
The Parents Program has a number of ways for parents to get involved in the Penn community and donate your generous time and energy.
Penn Parents Program

Volunteer, get involved.

Parent volunteers serve as ambassadors of goodwill promoting a cause they believe worthwhile: the education and wellbeing of students at Penn and the entire Penn community.  The Parents Program is committed to offering a number of ways you can get involved, join the Penn community and donate your generous time and energy. Being a parent volunteer is one more way to stay connected and involved in your child’s Penn experience.

Specific Parents Program volunteer events include:

Parents Fund Phone-a-thons – Year Round
Parent volunteers throughout the year call fellow Penn parents to ask for their annual giving support of the Parents Fund. The funds raised from these phone-a-thons help to enhance the intellectual, social and cultural life at Penn and cover the “real” cost of each student’s undergraduate education.  Join other parent volunteers as we connect with and engage parents throughout the country.

Penn Preview Days– Spring
This event, which is coordinated and hosted by the Admissions office, is a great way for parents to greet new potential families, answer questions and share their Penn experience as an active Penn parent.  Newly accepted students – some of whom are still making their decision on where to attend – and their parents have an opportunity to get a true feel for the Penn experience. We ask for your help in reaching out to these families.

Regional Welcome Receptions – Summer
Help the Parents Program welcome new families to the Penn community. Parent volunteers can host an event or help local alumni clubs by attending an event and answering questions from new parents.

Welcome Calling Program – Summer
Take this opportunity to call incoming parents in your region from the comforts of your home.  Welcome new parents to the Penn family, encourage them to attend campus events and help them to navigate Penn.

New Parent Orientation – August
Parent volunteers are needed on campus to welcome new parents into the Penn family and answer any questions they may have. Volunteers help promote the Parents Program and pass along information about campus and Philadelphia. Parents with foreign language skills are strongly encouraged to participate during International Parent Orientation.
